Issues with 165, cars stalls when put in gear.
Hey fellas, a friend of mine is having some issues after swapping a complete 89 TPI 350 w/trans into a 78 T/A all stock motor nothing fancy. The car starts just fine, but when you put it in gear it stalls. The timing is mechanically set to 10* initial and also in the chip. I have tons of experience with 730, but very little with MAF tuning. He had a chip burned from Arizona Speed to remove VATS and added some timing. My question is; Does the 165 ecm automatically add the initial to the spark table or do you have compensate when doing that table? I say that because I know 730 does. Thanks for your help. I really think this guy has other issues. For what it's worth he is also using a Pain harness.

Be sure that the minimum idle air and TPS voltage is set correctly. It is critical on the TPI MAF set ups.
And as mentioned in your thread on the EFI & ECM board, there needs to be a P/N input to the ECM on pin B10. Open in drive and grounded in park or neutral.
RBob.

Thanks man. I'll let you know if that fixed it.
