ebl flash surging tpi

I realize theres a lot of threads on this, but im confused exactly what to look into changing. Right now the car is running in open loop, it does better in open loop as far as wb a/f ratio after numerous ve learns, but it surges at idle in the 900-1300 rpm range. It hardly surges in closed loop, but badly in open. I can try to give as much info as necessary just ask. Thanks for any help.

There are rich/lean areas in the VE table. Be sure to flatten the VE table in the lower RPM/Load area. See Into to Tuning Part 2 (our website) for more information on this.

Re: ebl flash surging tpi

I will reread through it and go from there. Also although i think i know the answer, doesn't pe mode work in open loop? Is there any disadvantages to running the car in open loop all the time? Or should i continues to do more ve learns with the WB, and then focusing on blm ve learns in the future? thanks again

Yes, PE works in open loop. Downside to open loop is that the cat-con doesn't work properly.

VE Learns with a WB are faster and provide full coverage.
