Need help with my IAT install

Need help with my IAT install
IAT sensor is new and is ty-wrapped temporarily to bottom of open element AC. I am getting a voltage signal from the ECU. The wire from the ECU goes to one of the leads on IAT sensor and I have the other to ground. I have the coolant/iat tables set to stock EBL. The malf flags are not set but I dont think that is necessary? The sensor is not showing any activity in logs.
What did i do wrong?

How is the signal and ground wired to the sensor? I believe the wire from EBL (C12 - tan) should be connected to the "B" terminal on the sensor and the ground connected to "A".
Also, what ground are you using? Stock wiring has the tps, iat and cts grounded together and terminated at the ecm (A11 - blk)

yes I am using that ground(tps-cts) my harness did not have IAT so a seperate lead direct from ECU provided...
now A and B? I dont believe the sensor is labeled A-B? I just plugs into stoch 2 prong wire harness which my car does not provide. I used a simple male(sensor) to female(ecu and ground) plug obtained at RS. I will simply reverse and try again. I am using IAT from 1992 Camero.

Actually, the sensor doesn't have a polarity. The stock setup has the yellow wire going to the ECM, with the black wire going to ground. With the sensor unplugged and key-on, engine-off, the yellow wire (ECM input) should read 5 volts. The other wire should read ground (0 volts).
