I just got a serial-usb adapter so I can use my interface cable on my good laptop. Previously I have been using an old toshiba laptop with a serial port and moates software with no problems. I wanted the streamline the whole tuning process by just scanning and emulating on the same computer. I downloaded the driver for the adapter cable, went to the car and attempted to connect to the ecm. I used the process of elimination to figure out which com port I was using. all was good.
I clicked connect to ALDL. and says connecting for about 10 seconds and then says connection failed.

I was wondering If I need to change some computer settings? I would like to try and make this work instead of buying a whole new usb cable to scan.
BTW I am Using Tunerpro RT 4.13
I have the interface type set for Max232 cable, also I have the 7730_8d definition file.
