TunerCat - TDFEditor...

I was just reading up about this and wondering if anyone has any feedback about this. I thought it might be useful to create tables (like that MAT Delta table in the 8D had that is not in the 8D.tdf).

The price is cheap (only $39.95) but I wanted to see if anyone had any feedback on it first.

PS: There is a new update to TunerCat (v 1.60) for those registered users.

TNR Editor is kicka$$. I've been using it for ... ahmem ... sometime now and it is great. It allows you to add ANY parameter or table you want to the TDF file. Very cool. Before the $8D TDF file had the knock and decay tables I put them in MY TDF file and used them. Then I told TC about it and he added those tables to the standard $8D that he supplies. Its great for those who read through the HACs.

Blade, the TDFEditor is at TunerCat's web site ... same 30 day trial period as with all their software.

Thanks for the recommendation Traxion. I am still playing with my eprom's VE tables (its slow going when you only have the weekend to do tests) to get that elusive "perfect 128/128" chip for the majority of part throttle conditions. Its very close now, but I am a perfectionist.

But after that (and then the WOT), I will pickup the TDFEditor and try mucking with a table I found for the "MAT Delta" table. I found that when I went to a higher T-stat, that my mixture went richer with the either the relocated MAT or the stock MAT (but TB Bypass).

It kind of confirms that the "MAT Delta" table does compute the change to the PW based on the difference between the CTS and MAT readings as the hack code of the 8D said.

Also, FYI, using the stock MAT (but with the TB Bypass), I found that the higher T-stat DOES NOT increase the heat to the plenum. I got the same MAT reading (within a degree or 2*C) running a 160* T-stat and a 180* T-stat when I compared it to a day where the ambient air temperature was the same. The only time the stock MAT differed appreciably from each other was when I got stuck in city traffic due to sitting in traffic and the heat of the engine transferring to the plenum. But it was not extreme and on the open road...no difference at all.

So it appears this running a colder T-stat to keep the plenum from picking up heat from the engine is false for the open road and only partially true for city traffic.
