I just got a Prominator last week and decided to try it out today. I can write files to it no problem but when I try and start the car it runs for about 1 or 2 seconds then stalls. If I press on the gas it does the same thing. I've tryed a few different bins with no improvement. Here are a few bins I tryed
acxs 32, arap, ABWN350. The acxs 32 is the same bin as my stock chip, the arap I changed the injector constant, and the abwn350 I also changed the injector constant

My car is an 87 t/a with lb9 and 700r4.

I'm new to this and wanna get the bugs worked out with the stock setup before I drop my 350 in. I've been searching for hours and have not found anything to help solve this. Any help would be great.

Yes I did turn off Vats I forgot to mention that.

I went back out to try some more today. Ive tryed different bins, I even left the vats on for the hell of it and it still has the same symptoms. I set the dip switch to a number that I did'nt program yet and it does the same thing.
I got the car running for about 20-30 seconds by pumping the gas like a mad man(barely ran and was popping) and the check engine light went on solid. I checked for codes for the heck of it and the light was on solid.

I'm not sure what to check. It does run fine with the stock prom.

Any suggestions

I just recently discovered a bug in the software. If you do a "manual" verify after uploading a bin, the software will disable the ECM's access to the Prominator ROM. There is no need to perform a verify yourself, the upload routine will do it for you (notice the 2 progress bars, one for program and one for verify).

If you are clicking on the Verify icon after each upload then you will have problems. To see if this is the problem, just upload a file then disconnect the parallel port cable.

I'll fix this bug just as soon as I get a chance.

Try pulling the stock EPROM off the PROMinator pins and turn it around. I think that's what I did when my car was doing that.... Been too long since that happened. If I can remember for sure what I did I'll post it.... I may have it in an email I saved that I got from Mr. Bill a long time ago......

The other option I think was I had the Moates ADL adapter switched to the wrong position......

2/16/05: I read through my old stuff and the problem was that I didn't have the stock EPROM on the PROMinator at all.......

I shipped my ECM, EPROM, and PROMinator to Bill. Bill offered to look at it. He mentioned It could be a problem with the bins I was using. He's gonna read my stock EPROM and load the bin to the PROMinator and test it out. I hope it's as simple as that.
