miniram bin

just got a miniram and installing it this weekend. My current setup is not tuned with the chip other than injector constant and some minor lower ve work. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on a good starting point before i start it up and try to drive it. maybe somethings that need to be changed that will help me get closer before i can get a chance to tune it.

Pump Shot. Acceleration Enrichement vs. %TPS. Almost all MiniRam setups need these raised about 10-20%. If you get an off-idle stumble or an off-idle backfire then you know that you are need more pump shot.

Traxion is absolutely right. I had to add just about that much pump shot to smooth out the off-idle stumble.

Other than that it will drive. Though for max power you're going to have to remap the fuel and spark for the Miniram. It's characteristics are going to be a lot different than the TPI. It's going to also depend on the rest of your engine combination- i.e. cam, heads, and exhaust.

I actually started out copying an LT4's fuel and spark MAPs. Since the manifold and cam are similar to a ZZ4/Miniram combo, I figured it was a good place to start. Seems to work just fine. I did some tweaking here and there to get my BLM's just right, but it's running great now.

Guys remember that you'll still have to do some tweaking. The thing with this is that it's closer to a Miniram than a TPI which makes it a good starting point.

Also, the way I'm viewing it is with Tunercat and the $EE tdf file. I'm not sure what software you're all running. I downloaded it as a .lt1 file and used the tuneconv software to turn it into a .bin.

I just want to compare the fuel and timing cuves to what I'm presently running. Maybe I can find the $EE definition for tunerpro.

got the email, not sure what im looking at, runs from 2k thru to 7k and from 20kpa to 100kpa in 5 point increments?

And if this is the spark table? would i divide by .3 to make it workable in normal timing terms

Look at the tabs on the sheets. There's main spark and extended spark as well as VE and extended VE.

The spark table is just the total number of degrees of advance vs MAP and RPM. The ECM will also use the value in the constants table for initial advance set by you at the distributor.

So lets say you have 6° of initial advance at your distributor (the factory value). And also let's say you're crusing along at 2200 rpm and you have 50 Kpa of manifold pressure. Go to the table and look up 2200 rpm and 50 Kpa. You get 40° BTDC. However, this is total timing. So since you already have 6° at the distributor, the ECM will add 32° to get to 40°.

Not sure about the dividing by .3 thing????

I would suggest using Craig's new file system over on his site. That way we don't have multiple sites.
