too burn or not to burn

i have a 91 305 tpi/auto sd 730 ecm, now i have a few bolt ons, headers, no cat, air foil, power pullies. 3.73 gears, ect. i have not done anything with the heads or cam or ported and polished yet. i have a factory gm fastchip in it now and was wondering if it would be worth burning a chip for it, i mean i have to buy the programmer and scan tool to hook up to a laptop and the things like that. so iam just wondering if i spent all that if i would notice a good gain or not or should i hold off till i do the heads and maybe cam. it runns really good now and does not seam to be lacking, not running rich or lean, so should i just leave it alone for now and wait till i really need to reprogram a chip for it? thanx for ur time and advice
