ECM options.

I don't really want to buy old and out dated chip burning supply's when the aftermarket is full of better parts, so what are some of you guys using or what do you recommended using? I've been looking at the 24x conversion along with the Holley and Fast products also. Thanks for any input.

Re: ECM options.

My opinion for your top two choices are Rbob's Dynamic EFI setup or MegaSquirt. Dynamic EFI will be a plug and play with a lot of support on these message boards. MegaSquirt requires more setup and learning intricacies of fuel injection but in the end is more powerful fuel injection controller. Dynamic EFI in some cases is half as much as MegaSquirt though. I am not sure but I don't think MegaSquirt has a dedicated "highway mode" if you put on lots of highway miles. I run MegaSquirt, love it.

Re: ECM options.

Yeah, whats the application?

Stock ecms can do just about everything you need but you do need to burn chips. I never had a problem with that. RBob's ebl flash takes the oem based stuff to a new level, creating a nicely priced system that can also do eerything you could ever want and no chip burning.

24x requires alot of parts changes and wiring mods. I am nearing the end of my conversion and it wasnt exactly easy, mainly time consuming building a new wiring harness for the car from cutting away stock ls1 harnesses and stock tpi harnesses and splicing together

Some of the newer aftermarket self tuning systems are nice and can get you up to running speed quickly but are expensive.

Depends on what you are doing with the car

Re: ECM options.

Street/Strip with a turbo or pro-charger not sure on which yet. Thanks for the recommendations.

Re: ECM options.

As far as plug and play the holey systems seem pretty nice, but i want to see how your 24x conversion goes before i eliminate that option.
