Reading Error Codes, 1988 Firebird.

I've gotten a SES light on a few times after starting the car cold, never after it's warmed up. I'm gone to pull the codes tonight using the jumper method in the FAQ. It says, connect pin 6 and 12 on old type ALDL connectors and 5 and 6 on the newer type. Would my 1988 Firebird be the newer type?

I just ran the codes, got a code 34, MAF issue. FYI, the 1988 Firebird has the new type ALDL connector, connect pins 5 and 6.
