Cam Overlap, reversion and tuning.

So when cam has overlap, and air gets passed the intake and exhaust valve without being burnt. It can even go backwards back toward the intake. What does this slowing of air speed or velocity have on your 02 sensor, MAF meter, IAC, FPR and ECM? I seem to think this is part of the reason why we need to tune the ECM for the correct air fuel response. Thanks.
