8746 to 7730 ecm swap
I've been running a tpi manifold with a 8746 for some time now ... I got a hold of a 7730 and repined my ecm got everything wired up, and got nothing, no 5v ref, no fuel pump prime, no ses light, security light did its normal routine.
I got a hold of a better pinout and discovered that I was shy a ground on pin d7.
still nothing...
I had 12v to both org wires and 12v at the pk/blk with the ign on. The VSS, Crank Signal, and two extra inj leads remained unplugged, also the a/c request, plus i couldnt discern the wire on the 8746 harness that i should use for the fan request. pins c & f on the ecs connector jumpered for knock signal.
I opened up the prom and made sure it was secure. no help... i got a hold of a frequency generator. (10v max), I read while searching threads that thats vats module send a 40 hz signal. Tried that and a few others to no avail...
I wired the 8746 back in... everything works fine. Starting to wonder if the ecm is any good. Does any one know a method of bench testing an ecm, or have a car local to springfield Oh that i can test it in ?

Re: 8746 to 7730 ecm swap
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have no idea what i did wrong here. I was pretty sure the vats wouldn't be an issue. and that the vss input would be moved to another pin with a change in code. I couldn't figure out where the crank signal wire should go with the information on hand.
