Code 41, any ideas what to look for?
Hi guys:
I just installed a new 383/vortec into my '88 GTA with a rebuilt (stock) distributor, long tube TPI, stock computer with a custom chip from Hawks 3rd gen, and it's giving me a Code:
41. Fault at cam sensor OR Cylinder select error OR Tach input error
I've checked the wiring to the distributor, but I don't think this car has a cam sensor, and have no idea what a cylinder select error would be. Any ideas what might be the problem or what I should look for?
Thanks in advance
TA

the trouble tree for that code on your car is,
key off, clear codes, start the motor & run for 1 minute or until code 41 sets.
if it sets code 41, its a bad connection at the MEMCAL or its the wrong MEMCAL.

Thanks Denn:
I appreciate the help. I'll try all my memcal connections and see what happens after a reset.
