MAF vs MAP

I had a 87 T/A with a 350 Tuned Port and the MAF system....with big heads, intake, cam, headers the car ran super fast, the only other mods being an ajustable fuel pressure regulator, the MAF seemed to adapt really well each time I modified the car....I now have a 92 Formula with the MAP system and understand that I have to modify the chip each time I play with the engine(EG Cam,Headers)...I would rather have a MAF system.....is this a difficult retrofit???....or is there an easy way to often modify the current system....I am not very computer literate, and would prefer the MAF system......has anyone done this swap....Thanks...

Check the stickies at the top, there are documents for your needs. IMO most people swap to MAP, but run what you are comfortable with. Knowledge, tools, diag equipment, etc.

MAF is more adaptable w/o changing the tune, but MAP is a better system. No, you can't get by with near as much w/o changing the tune as MAF, but with the proper tune, MAp makes more power. Also, if you keep upgrading, at some point, the MAF will limit you because it can't flow enough air. -

as stated, read the stickies/do a search. there's tons of info.
