Those that have put on an Edelbrock type intake what thermostat housing & upper rad. hose did you use? I'm having trouble coming up with a match.

Re: Thermostat housing & hose

Factory hose is too short and it takes a 1 5/16 connection. Thanks.

Re: Thermostat housing & hose

So you are saying the Eddy intake have the t-stat housing in a different location, making a factory hose too short?

Re: Thermostat housing & hose

Correct. The TPI manifold has the thermo housing to the left of center, it is longer, it sticks out in front of the block just over 3" and is 1 5/16 dia.
I have a Mr. Cool radiator that came with the car. It has a 1 3/8 dia. water neck. I don't know if the is stock size or not. I don't know if I have a stock upper rad. hose. But it fits the TPI perfect.

The pic of the sbc 400 I have the rad. hose pulled as far as it will go. I have a swivel thermo. housing coming & a 1 1/4 to 1 1 1/2 reducer coming. My hose will tighten up on the 1 1/4 end. The swivel will help so it's not pointing to the air intake creating interference. Any thermo. housing I find for a sbc has a 1 1/2" neck.

That hose shows 1 1/4 on one end and 1 1/2 on the other. I don't think I will be able to get the 1 1/4 end on my 1 3/8 rad neck. What is your rad neck diameter?
