1992 camaro 3.v6 lower coolant fan switch
I am looking for the part # for the coolant sensor/switch to turn on the single fan on 1992 camaro rs 3.1v6. I have changed many of these on tpi cars with the single wire hypertech fan switches. But it looks like the v6 is a 2 wire ,close to the thermostat housing. Is this the correct sensor/switch to change out? Any help is appreciated thanks

the 3.1 doesnt have a fan switch but instead uses the ECM temp signal to turn the fan on. I think it gets its info from that switch you mentioned though

I use Rock Auto all the time for part numbers. They have cross reference, just hit the "INFO" button on the item and check "OEM / Interchange Numbers:"

That part is generally referred to as the CTS as in coolant temperature sensor. Gives input to the computer for many functions

Thanks . I was hoping to find one that would change the temp that the fan would come on sooner. But doesnt look like it can be done.

For the 3.1, I think you have to have the chip / PROM in the ECM reprogrammed in order to change that.
