Antifreeze/Coolant

I purchased this Pro Line Extended Life antifreeze. I just grabbed it as it was in the yellow bottle thinking it was the normal green antifreeze. It is green, but not the same, the color is not as bright. It is a 5 year coolant similar to the red but for ALL vehicles. I know you should not use the red in our cars or mix the red and green together. By the time I figured out it was not the normal 1 year green I had the system drained. I went ahead with the coolant change. You guys see any problem in this mixing with the remainder of the normal coolant in the system? I have run the car for a week now and the running temp. is normal. Should I drain the rad again and refill with more of this coolant?

I have not had any issues mixing formulas green-for-green. Even have one vehicle with a universal yellow product...all are fine.

I ended up using the OLDER style toyota red coolant you get from the Toyota dealers.... for older toyotas up to 2006 or so???..... the older toyotas are compatible with that or the regular green stuff which work fine in thirdgens.....sooooooo i figureeee it'd work.Im not talking about not the new toyota stuff though which is I think a bright pink HOAT coolant that is more acidic??? something like that.....

So far no issues, the Toyota coolant actually seems to keeps things Cooler etc.. .im using it in my third gen, s-10 and Camry

As far as the brown crap, i figure that was radiator sealer for the heater core from the previous owner. and it was all stuck in the block.

As far as green, i've mixed all types of green in the past, Prestone with that neon green with regular green, napa green etc.. no issues.

i think you'll get problems if you mix colors though..... or if it specifically says not to mix etc... mainly DEXCOOL.... that's when you get sludging and stuff.

Re: Antifreeze/Coolant

I love the Zerex G-05. My 03 Toyota Camry uses it. I bought the car from my aunt with almost 92K on it. 2MZ 6 cyl engine.
By the maintenance schedule, it was due for a timing belt. So I did everything, including a coolant change and flushing the block.
There is some kind of removable plate on the back side of the block. When removed, you are seeing right inside of the aluminum block and cylinder liners. I was completely blown away when I saw brand new looking aluminum and cast iron. It made me a believer.
