Coolant leak from sensor on back of manifold, 5.0 TBI Help!!
I feel dumb for asking this, but after searches, i still cant figure out what sensor is plugged into the back of my intake manifold. its on the passenger side at the very back of my intake manifold, right next to my dizzy. i didnt notice the leak until i changed my valve cover gaskets, but its leaking bad from the looks of it.
So what is this plug? is it just a coolant temperature sensor or something else??
thirdgen has always helped with my car, i hope this time is no different

Sounds like that is where the fitting for the heater hose that goes to the heater bypass valve should be. What is there now?

im not sure what it is, one of the hoses coming from the heater valve goes to this mystery plug. Its at the veeery back of my manifold, almost right underneath my dizzy.

Yeah, that's what should be there. It's threaded into the manifold and is either loose or has damaged threads that would cause a leak. You will have to probably take off the air cleaner to check it out or tighten it up without doing too much stretching. You will probably have some water spillage, but not too much. Have fun!

Ok, well at least i know it shud be there. but what is it? if its just a coolant temp sensor then ill just replace it cuz its rusty as hell. i already tried to tighten it but more coolant just found its way out.

It's just a hose fitting with threads. Sounds like somebody substituted in a cheapo replacement that doesn't fit right. Should be easy to get, or I may have an extra if you can't find one. No sensor involved, just provides a place to attach the hose. I'm assuming the hose and clamp are good, yes?
