Fan relays *pic* help ID wire to splice into
I have an 89 IROC 305 TPI. I am going to implement the solution in this diagram that MDFormula posted:
My problem is, my primary and secondary relays have different color wires, and one has an extra wire in relationship to the diagram shown.
My primary has 5 wires:
- 1 orange
- 1 blue
- 1 red
- 1 brown w/ white stripe
- 1 black w/ white stripe
The secondary relay has 4 wires:
- 2 orange
- 1 black
- 1 blue
Which wire on each do I need to ground for my toggles? Please help!

Jim, thanks for the pic, I guess the IROC setup is a little different than yours. I'll try and find the wire by trial and error, I just don't want to blow anything up.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Another useful tip is to always use heat shrink wrap to insulate all wire splices. Electrical tape has a tendancy to come off when it gets hot, leaving the bare connections exposed. Not onyl that but the sleeves look nice and tidy as well.
