Jet fan switch install - what the hell!
Ok, last weekend I jacked up the car to install my Jet low temp fan switch. The instructions say I need a 13/16 long slot socket to install it. WRONG!
First, neither old nor new switch was 13/16. They both were 7/8.
Next, the long slot socket would not fit between the switch and the inner fender AND let me attach my driver, even with a u-joint! And, the regular socket would not clear the metal tang coming out of the old one!!!
Am I missing something? Do I need to take the motor off the mounts to get at this thing? What did I miss with this damn thing? Thanks.

Can you get a combination wrench on it? I removed my fan switch and put in a plug, from the top, with a deep socket and a regular one.

I used a regular short socket with a 3/8 drive breaker bar. Also, I had to remove the upper dip stick mounting bolt and pull the dip stick tube out a little.

I will tell you all this: the 180 thermostat helped wonders! Big difference in how she runs...
I am gonna hve the oil changed by a shop this weekend. I might see if they can change the switch for me...
