Convertible top material

does anyone have experience with both the vinyl and stay fast cloth materials?

We are considering the cheap top for our project car, just to get us down the road. does the vinyl look cheap?

Is it really worth the extra money to upgrade to cloth?

Thanks,
Chris

Re: Convertible top material

well I opted for the cloth after seeing some possible tearing issues with the vinyl top.

Re: Convertible top material

I had the vinyl top with the plastic window on my old 84. But when I got my 91 and needed a new top so I went for the stayfast cloth top with the glass window. I love the stayfast and you don't have to worry about scratching plastic. It is more expensive and the glass is smaller than the plastic but I am glad I did the switch!!
