Tonneau Striker

Tonneau Striker

What exactly does this do? Whats it for?The striker completely clears the hole in the bracket below, one per side too. Is there something missing in mine? Anyone.

i believe that's incase the car was rear ended , it was to help keep the tonneau cover from coming forward into the passenger compartment

EXACTLY! it is to keep the tonneau cover from slicing off the occupants heads, in a crash.

I thought it was a supplemental reinforcement for the rear seat belt restraint that attaches to the tonneau from 89-91...
