Spoiler Brake light questions
I searched, Ok i was wondering where i can get a replacement Spoiler brake light. I have a super tight budget. Also was it put in other gm cars or just the camaro convertibles? The light in my car right now is all corroded and broken on the back and it wont hold the bulbs in all the way and 2 of them fall out and it looks retarded when i have a half burnt out spoiler light. The snow is starting to melt soon i can drive it again!!!!!

Re: Spoiler Brake light questions
I hate to be an ***, but search would help you quite a lot.
I wont be an *** though. I just had a similar issue and I found that some of the camaro spoiler brake lights are the same for birds and camaro convertibles. I read that while I searched, however I don't remeber it of the top of my head. Just go to a jy and look at the camaro spoiler third brake lights. I believe that will work. 86 and up coupe brake lights.

86-90 camaro in spoiler light will work.
I'm on the same quest as you. Also be warned of the cost of the bulbs.
I've got to find the post/link again to some site that sells LED bulbs for it.

True, if you go to the car parts store and ask for "convertible spoiler 3rd brake light bulbs", they will rape you up your a**. Don't be surprised if they ask for $5 per bulb.
I pulled one of the bad bulbs out and matched it to a VERY similar (although not 100% identical) bulb for 99c/pair. Much better.

Re: Spoiler Brake light questions
I used the Radio Shack bulbs and they burned out just after 1 1/2 years to 2. They also burned a little brighter...which is good, but It caused me to have to replace all 5 bulbs vs just one or two becuase it didn't look good having 2 bulbs brighter than the others. I bit the bullet and bought GM bulbs.

Re: Spoiler Brake light questions
I bought this set of 10:
http://cgi.ebay.com/TEN-10-G4-JC-Typ...QQcmdZViewItem
I replaced all 5 so they would be the same, and kept five in reserve.
At that price, I don't mind if they go out in a year or two.
I got the 10 watt ones, as the 20 watts (the ones from Radio Shack mentioned above) were pretty hot. Generally, the factory is pretty good with things like that, but I just wanted it to work and look good. I didn't want to put any more stress on the stock parts.
They seem to be the same brightness as the originals but much less heat, which might be because they are 20 years newer technology (even though technically the same bulb at a lower wattage).

Re: Spoiler Brake light questions
Since posting about this eariler, I had two of the GM bulbs burn out and decided to take the advice on this thread and purchase the 10W bulbs at Home Depot which are designed for outdoor pathway lights.
They are a perfect fit and light up at the same intensity as the GM bulbs at a fraction of the cost. Given they are made to be used outside, I suspect they will hold up well....time will tell, but it's worth the try.
