1982 Pontiac Firebird TPS Missing Connection
Hi everyone, I have a 1982 Firebird 5.0l 305 with a Rochester Quadrajet Carb. I am throwing a code 21, low TPS voltage so I went ahead and got a new TPS assuming that is the issue. I’ve been throwing the code on and off for a while and finally getting around to getting it resolved. Well I got the new sensor and decided to take a look at the carb to see what I’m getting into. Well immediately I noticed the likely cause, there is no plug or wire connected to the TPS at all. There’s no indication where it was cut off at and I can’t find anywhere that looks like it was modified.
The only thing I can think of is that it had to have been removed when I had the carb rebuilt a year or two ago (about the amount of time I have been throwing the code) so that makes sense. What doesn’t make sense is why they would remove it and not tell me, or how this car still even runs without it. Well the shop is now out of business so I can’t ask any questions, pretty convenient right?
I guess the question is, does anyone know where the wires lead from the connection to the TPS? This way I could try to work backwards and find where the pigtail was cut and replace with a new one? I’d appreciate any thoughts. Thanks!

There's what you're looking for. It comes up out of that harness that goes across the intake in front of the carb.

the shop
Please explain this thing. I don't quite understand it. Isn't that where women go to buy a new handbag or makeup or something? What does THAT have to do with a hobbyist maintaining an ANTIQUE car as part of their hobby?
