will this quad work?

Looking for a non ccc quadrajet for my 350 swap and just wanted to make sure this one would work. Casting number is 17068475. Numbers under that are 2942. Seller said it's non computer controlled with an electric choke. Any one know for sure about this?

something seems off with the numbers, can he confirm that they are correct?

Re: will this quad work?

I tried decoding the number but the 2 indicates it's a varijet and the 6 means it's from the 70s. The owner said it was off of an 84 pickup. Not sure if it's original to the truck or not. Just wanted to make sure it will work before I shell out the money. From the pics the only thing electric is the choke.

this is the one I just picked up for my car, I would imagine if your are going non computer controller.. it would need to be something similar to this. other carb experts could chime in.

Re: will this quad work?

It's a Dual Jet (2 barrel). From what I've read, these were used on 6 cylinders from 81-84. I imagine it could be used on an eight cylinder. Since it has an MCS, that says it's computer controlled, and it needs the feedback from the ECM or it won't run right. http://www.carburetion.com/CarbNumbe...umber=17068475. The E on the end means it has an electric choke.

Re: will this quad work?

go for an electric choke.. it doesn't have to be run by a computer.. just has to be run by a wire powered on with ignition.
