help switching to non cc carb/dizzy
87 camaro lg4
My cc carb took a crap on my so I decided to switch to a non cc carb. I just purchased a MSD streetfire dizzy, weiand street warrior intake, and a non cc Quadrajet from mountain man. I already know that it's not recommended but I just hate having wires all over the place. Thanks for the help!
Just a few questions.
1. For the dizzy what wires do I use from the old wiring harness? It says I have to hook up a 12V and a ground. Or do I no longer need any off the wire clips from the old dizzy/coil?
2. For the vacuum on the dizzy do I just run a hose from the carb, or do I have to add a vacuum nipple to the manifold?
3. Since I'm sticking with a quadrajet can I just use the old brackets for the TV cable and the throttle cable? Or will I still need to adjust the geometry for the TV cable?
4.Can I completely ditch the wiring harness? the only connectors I really see being used are the wires to my starter and the electrical clip to the alternator.

What you haven't mentioned is the torque converter clutch lockup. Without the inputs from the computer distributor and carb, the computer will be brain dead with respect to that. You'll need to rig something up (covered in tech articles linked from the thirdgen.org homepage, or search the tranny forum.

Thanks five7kid! I already new about the tcc situation. Turns out my old bracket doesn't bolt up to my street warrior intake. I might have to make my own. Where would I find the measurements for the correct height and distance?
