Swapping throttle plates
The carb im rebuilding has a lot of problems with the throttle plate so I figure it would be cheaper and easier to just find another one to swap over. Im rebuilding an 82 t/a 305 4bbl quadrajet carb and was wondering if this throttle plate would work. Its been rebushed already and since my throttle and secondary shafts have broken bolts in them and my throttle linkage is bent I was hoping this would bolt right up.

I assume that's an actual picture of the part you would be buying.
The only thing that comes to mind being different between computer and non-computer throttle plates are the threads of the idle mixture screws. But, I haven't done a side-by-side comparison of them, either.
That throttle arm looks weird. Can't see for sure in the pic, but the TV cable mount probably isn't correct.

Re: Swapping throttle plates
Ill probably just send this one off to be redone. Almost all the screws in the shafts are broken off. Im guessing they could be drilled out and put new screws in but im going to send it off to be rebushed anyway so maybe ill just have them fix that problem as well.

Re: Swapping throttle plates
When I compared my 83 CCC throttle plate to a 77 throttle plate, they were almost identical other than the hole and the 77 had easier access to the idle mixture screws. There might have been more differences, but I don't reacll.
