To much fuel?
Lately my car on the way home from work starts to bog down from 60 to 45 and smells like unburnt gas. If you hit the gas it starts to die off so I have to feather it to get it back up to speed while the car revs and slows down repeatedly. Im wondering if the carb is flooding out?

Its a 4bbl rochester quadrajet from an 84 t/a. The car is a 84 t/a with a 77 chevy 350 keith black flat tip pistons, stage 2 cam, 305 t/a h.o. heads. Im thinking that the butterfly valves might be sticking when it gets cold?

I took it to the shop and they said the fuse to the choke was blown so they replaced it for the second time and the choke light went off. Worked for a day then the second night I was driving home from work it started acting up again and you could smell the unburnt gas. I tested the choke from cold to warm and the choke valve opens all the way after a few minutes so im guessing the thermostat is ok. What would happen to possibly shut the valve off out of nowhere? The car will run fine between 0-30 when this happens, anything over that and it just wont go.

I checked the resistance for the choke and its coming back at 7.3. Isnt it usually over 10 ohms that its bad? The connector is registering exactly 14 volts as well.

check your alternator. The choke coil receives power directly from there. If your alt is dropping out the choke will not get voltage.
