I don't know of any replacement for it unless you go non-CC and put a small 4-bbl on it.
The only one I had was on an '80 Citation 2.8. The car had about 250k miles on it when the body fell apart around the engine (miles estimated, because the speedometer quit after about 230k miles). I rebuilt the carb once, it always seemed to work well. But, that was a non-computer version.

Re: Varajet II ditch/keep??
thanks for the help. main reason behind me asking is i'm planning on doing the 3.4 swap and didnt know if i could get a better carb to run on the 3.4.
thanks again
i know holley makes a 350cfm 2bbl as does Demon Carbs but i dont know if that would be the correct size

I took a quick look on summitracing.com for intake manifolds. Basically the only thing offered is a base upon which you need to put one of two uppers, a 2 bbl or 4 bbl. The 2 bbl is made for the Varajet, the 4 bbl for a standard squarebore Holley. About $200+ to get two pieces you'd need.
I agree the 2.8 isn't that big of a powerhouse. But, again, I didn't have any particular issues with the non-computer version of the Varajet.
