non cc q-jet on new 350
hey guy i just finished rebuilding a 350 (lo5) new bearings seals etc
here are the vitals
stock 9.3 compression
ported and polished 193 swirl ports 1.94/1.5 back-cut valves and 3 angle valve job
lt1 cam shaft and lifters (used) roller
comp 981 valve springs
melling m55hv oil pump
anyway i rebuilt a non cc q-jet last year
carb # 7045203-2065
1975 camaro
anyway i rebuilt it and had it on the old 305 but it ran pretty rich
does anyone know a baseline type hanger/ rod combo that would work well as a starting point??

you're ahead of me a bit
that's not an overly aggressive motor so, I think you're ok with say;
43 rods
73-74 jets
for primaries, and for secondaries, any hanger you want. use DR rods.
check what primary rods and jets there were in there, I think the '75 q-jet would have the older style primary rods, and not the '74 and earlier longer ones... ( well, should, but maybe not...)
make sure your AV is tight, and not flopping around. probably just needs to be tuned nicely, ie primary power plunger height set right, float set right, idle mixture screws set right. not rocket science, but make sure all your basics are set up right before you chase a different problem.
good luck.
