What cable is this on my 1988 Bose system?

I put the original radio back in and thought I plugged everything in except this black cable. I get key on clock but when I turn the radio **** to the ON position, I just a motor sounding noise from the power antenna. The antenna does not go up or down. Also, is there a relay for the power antenna? I don't have any of the Bose speakers hooked up yet, just checking to see if the radio actually works.

Thanks!

Re: What cable is this on my 1988 Bose system?

I just answered this on Facebook,..... I'll re-post here so others can see it too:

"That particular wire is a pulse width modulated signal used to dim the digital display on the C68 climate control. " That wire is not used in most cars,.... quite a few 88 & earlier Buick Delco radios also have this same exact wire/plug. It's NOT used/needed in the F-Body or Vette; at least not used/needed for pre-89 Vette anyway.

Re: What cable is this on my 1988 Bose system?

P.S.

By your description I'm thinking the P/Antenna cable snapped causing the motor to just run continuously. The antenna relay is mounted under the passenger side of the dash housing. It's a PITA to access,... after removing the pass side "hush" panel you can find the relay by following the P/Antenna wiring, or by feeling under the front underside "lip" of the dash housing. The motor will stop running once you unplug it from the relay.
