UT4 replacement compatible with Uq7 for 1988 GTA

This will be the 2nd time in 5 years my stock UT4 has issues.
Mother board went out all speakers were only static. Had it repaired and an aux port installed and as of yesterday. It will play all speakers but the left front will only play for a few seconds and then nothing out of it. I can turn the radio off and back on that speaker will again play for a few seconds then it's off again. To my question -
I'm now interested in looking at other options. Is there a double din option that is compatible with my 1988 GTA steering controls and my uq7 set up - oem amp and gain switch etc.. I would like to keep factory function of those. If possible.

Re: UT4 replacement compatible with Uq7 for 1988 GTA

Every Delco radio that will fit in the console is compatible with the UQ7 option.

The only Delco radio compatible with the Steering Wheel Controls is the "GTA" style Pontiac UT4 radio. IIRC there is a member here that recently posted about a custom modification to get a different radio to connect to the SWC option,... Search this forum for more info. If you decide to stay stock,......I've also got a large collection/selection of factory Delco heads units available for sale.

I fix/modify Delco radios as a hobby and would be interested in your radio if you intend to sell it. ( I happen to need a couple working cassette mechanisms for that kind of radio.) If I could,.... I'd offer to fix it, but I do not know how to repair the "receiver" part of your radio - in fact I just sent a few out for repair to M&R a week ago; Mind if I ask who repaired your's ??
