Where did you get your sub power from
As the title says, I'm installing a sub in the rear and was originally going to get power from the fuse box by the drivers side dash area but there's not a good spot I can see to get power from. The two good spots that I can see to get it from that are left are off of the starter or from the power junction right by the battery. These both involve getting the the wires through the firewall and I'd probably use a terminal as I don't really trust a grommet not to rot out after a couple of years and possibly cause a short later on. So, is there some good high amp place to pull power inside the cabin? Does anyone have some really high class solution they have used before for this?

I added an amplifier a few years back, and pulled the power for it from that junction block by the battery that you mentioned.
There are some pics HERE , and a few more posts down you can see the factory grommet that I used to pass the wire to the interior. It's been 6 years, and no issues yet, nor do I expect any.

Thanks Dave for the info. I read your whole thread and got the info I need and much more. NOT looking forward to pulling the tire and fender liner for the wire install but you gotta do what you gotta do. You have a really nice car and I sure like Pontiac dashes better than Camaro ones now.

I drilled from the inside out, I didn't go through the fender, its just under the air box, but above the fender.

First of all,size does matter,buy big size 0 Gauge car amplifier Power wire that goes to your +battery with a fuse then going inside your car true the firewall,make a hole in it with a drill,move carpet away from the drill bit or it will get stuck in it. then to route the wire true firewal to your +amp power,you may need little steel addadater that will go in your amp size 4gauge,which will allow your big wire from the battery to plug in your amp. Then run a wire to a very good hole in the steall ,Near the Light of your the rear car making shure you scratch all the paint from where the wire will touch the metal of the car for good contact,and bring the other end to your amp using again a 0 to 4 gauge addapter to your amp,then you only need a small gauge wire runing to your amp ,accessory power on, to your radio accessory power on,thats it,of course you need to run RCA cable to the radio to the amp.one for front speaker,rear speaker and sub.
Another thing professional also do, is call the big 3,
they change all cable going from the battery to the car,usually 3 wires,sometime 4,depending on car models and year.
they also sell these kit on eBay or Amazon,make shure you use the biggest size,which is 0/1 gauge.
I also take it a notch further... I change my Alternator to a Chrome and stronger one,but to be perfect all I need now would be a second battery in the back, but I think I'm good for now.. My sub fis power by an alpine 5chanel amp. I also wrap some led around the rear sub and other 8inch I temporary use for a test. Lights are cool and change colours with the music. My Massive Hippo is a big heavy for this car, Maibe ? But its also almost indestructible.i dont really like my cheap Chinese Bluetooth touch screen radio,but I dont hate it too much either,the sound quality is only good true Bluetooth using phone. I want replace it by the best alpine does, and I just learn the best alpine does is the F1 series,car radio,speakers and amp.

This wires kit as everything need it,even new battery terminal and 0/1 gauge to 4 gauge addaptor,fuse,audio wires and power wires from battery to amp in the back of car and more,at least you know you got all you need when buying this kit
My cheap made in china touch screen radio,bluthoot,map,back up camera, I will swap it for better some day, its a 7inch display by the way,I need to buy a bezel soon

I would STRONGLY recommend that you redo that crimp, and cover it with heat shrink tubing. You're just asking for an unfused short between that power line and the alternator chassis. All of the bare copper should be contained within that ring terminal, not hanging a half-inch out of it. Additionally, a piece of heat shrink that extends from the crimped section of the ring terminal to at least 3/4" down the wire would be very wise.
