Custom Sub Boxes/System
I recently built my own sub boxes (10") for my Trans, and figured I should share.
It's not how many people do it, but I wanted more of a "bass guitar" feeling, and less of a "doorjam rattler" feeling
I also built these, so they can be easily moved down into the cargo, or backseat area, when I'm hauling lumber, etc...
I've also rotated the amp 90 degrees since I took these pictures, to be able to adjust the settings easily.

Your boxes look REALLY small for the size of speaker you are running. Speakers need air in order to move effectively and those boxes look way too small. How do they sound?

Hauling lumber? Well I can't say I haven't seen it before but I guess you gotta do, what you gotta do. Just a little tip that may help how it sounds. Try turning the speakers around so the are facing the rear window. I messed with something similar to your setup on my old 97 RS in high school. Bass seemed a little deeper with them facing backwards, but still had plenty of punch. It was all just residual vibrations but still sounded good.

A: Actually they are only a little smaller than the subs call for. They are the "Shallow mount" subs pioneer makes, and they are also designed for a much smaller box.
B: They actually sound GREAT. Much better than before (I used to have them in a larger shared box, that just pointed straight up.) They have a much larger range, not just "doorjam rattling."

Wow man, that is some nice work. I like the low profile speakers. Saves a lot of room in there. I have a sub box in my 90 bird, and it takes up the entire deepend part of the trunk and weighs about 80 lbs... Life choices are not always so good haha. But it gives me a bit more rear traction haha.

Re: Custom Sub Boxes/System
Thanks!
My seats (all of them) are 4th gen seats our of a 2002 Trans Am.
They are 100% direct bolt in, no modifications.
(although, they had some extra features I didn't wire up, like air-powered lumbar adjustment. I could have, I just didn't care)
