Will this 2001 Pontiac Head Unit Fit in my '88 Trans Am?

I saw a local listing for someone selling what looks like a nice factory Delco radio w/ CD player out of a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire for only $40. The photos of this unit are shown below. The listing says it includes the power botton which is shown off in the photo.

How easily can this be installed into my 1988 Trans Am? I currently have the stock head unit w/ cassette player that came with my vehicle.

Besides the fit (opening size and well as depth), I would also question the need for a wiring harness adapter and well as the antenna plug.

I appreciate any help you guys can provide me.

No. I think that is a 2DIN radio, and it has a completely different wiring harness.

This is the model I have installed in my car.

I had to use a wiring harness adapter, but I think 88+ is different. You may not need an adapter.

I think it might work, looks to be the same dimensions as mine. To be sure though, you'll need to get the height measurement. I've got one of the Delco Theft-Lock head units from a 2002 GMC truck and it fits like it was made to go there. All I had to do since it didn't have the mounting tabs (had slide mounts) was to fabricate tabs from angle stock aluminum. The harness for me was a non-issue since mine was hacked by a previous owner, I acquired one from the junk-yard and spliced it in.

Here's a picture prior to putting the trim panel on...

Thanks Al. I'll have to ask the seller for the dimensions and compare that to the opening in my TA.

Keep in mind that the opening in the trim panel is actually smaller than the radio. Radio goes in, then trim panel goes on top and covers the outer perimeter of the radio face plate (maybe 1/8" all the way around).
