My 6 inch speakers in the door

This might be useful, it would have been for me putting them in. I put some 6 inch speakers in the door of my 90 camaro. It doesnt have window motors which probably made it easier. There is a perfect cutout in the metal of the door frame that the speakers fit into and they sound great. Heres a pic

Re: My 6 inch speakers in the door

Yea I realized that AFTER I put the speakers in hahah it was a complete fail moment. But the crank barely scrapes on the grill now and is totally usable. Taking the crank into consideration before hand it would be easy to correct for it with extensions or a different grill.

Re: My 6 inch speakers in the door

I didn't have to cut at all! only drill holes, there is already a pre existing hole that it fit right into. it was maybe a 4 hour job

Re: My 6 inch speakers in the door

That's nothing, the PO's of my Camaro had a wire running under the dash pad to a CB, they had a LOUD SPEAKER under the hood! I yanked the wire recently, somehow they had it ran between the fender, through the door jam.

Anyhow, good job on the door speakers, just, hide that wire a little better.
