Wiring for New Speakers

I have a pair of the Q-Logics kick panels so I can mount some aftermarket speakers to replace the factory front dash speakers that are shot. My question is this, what do I have to do to wire in the speaker as well as a tweeter that mounts above the speaker for these panels. I am going to retain my GM Delco radio and the rear speakers are already replaced. I am planning on disconnecting the front existing speakers and using the factory connections but with new wire, I am just not sure what how to wire the speakers and tweeters correctly. I'm not good at all with the electronics when it comes to radios and such and I want the speaker fade and balance controls to work correctly. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Re: Wiring for New Speakers

component speaker kits come with crossovers - wire the factory wires to the crossover "in". the crossover will have outputs that split the audio signal to the correct speaker (mid and tweeter)

I've put in a lot of speakers... most come with easy instructions / diagrams of multiple ways to wire them... If you have a wiring diagram for the radio, or note with the stock speakers which wire is + and -, keep them the same... you can test speakers with a AA battery, + to + wire, - to - wire, speaker should push out... if it sucks in, it's wired backwards....

Thanks for the reply, I have seen some of the kits for both the speakers and the tweeters that have the "crossover" and wasn't sure what or how to wire them to these crossovers, but your reply gives me some understanding on how to do this. I am not after a killer aftermarket system, I like the GM radio and using some good aftermarket speakers is all I need but I have never delt with crosovers, amplifiers, or anything else that isn't stock. I'm just an old guy who wants to enjoy my tunes while I cruise. Thanks for the help.
