Way to tighten the 6x9s?

so i put some 6x9 pioneers in the sail panels, and with certain songs one or both speakers rattle. i know its because they're loose, when i put my hand on it it stops.

what i want to know is how can i secure them.

there's screws that are holding them in, but if i try to tighten it too much it'd prob just strip the hole.

any ideas?

If the screw holes are stripped in the sheetmetal, maybe epoxy or weld nuts on the back side of the opening and using machine screws to hold the speakers in. An easier option could be just going with larger sheetmetal screws.

The 6x9's screw down to a plate which then screws to the body. Check all the screws. If the holes are stripped you can use clip nuts. Also, keep in mind the vents in the door jams can rattle, which could sound like the speakers.

very true. but the metal baffles onto which the speakers mount to tend to come loose. b sure to tighten those.
