Yeh i checked the fuses and there was about 2 or 3 that were burnt out, and they were number 30 fuses isn't that to high?? So i was gonna replace them with number 20 fuses but i had were 15's so i put those in and the radio still dosn't work. But i noticed that i also burnt out the interior light, the one beside the drivers head and only comes on when the door is open but that works now with the new fuses. Do you think i really need the number 30 fuses in there?? And also you wouldn't happen to know a website that will show me a wiring diagram of the radio would you??

It's vary possible that you damage the HU (head unit). If thing when south as you where playing with the speaker wires it's more then likely the amp (if it's a stock HU it use discrete parts instead of an amp IC. But before we condemn the radio there is some more trouble shooting to do. Start by disconnecting all the speaker wire and just use ground, B+, and ACC. That should be all you need to power things up. Do you have a DMM/volt meter? If so check for B+/constant and ACC/switched using the ground wire as your meter ground. I say to use the harness ground because this will 'test' (just a little) the ground. If you get odd reading from B+ and ACC check the resistance of the harness ground to chassis ground. If you've got ground, B+, and ACC it should power up, if not time to get a new HU.

You could check under this site- technical articals- Electrical- 1986 wiring dia. They may help. Don't ever put fuses rated higher in, you can put lower rated fuses is but they may just keep blowing. Check an owner manual if you can.
