A local shop in a nearby town has one of those subs. It looks pretty cool, but that is about it, just looks. I cant imagine taking that much room for that sub. I would rather have four 12s with the same 5000 watts

Depends if its OLD stuff or the newer models. The new stuff is crap, but their old models were dang good and very much competition quality.

how much it weighs

did a little bit of looking and i got the answer to the question on everyones mind.. how much does that ba#$#rd weigh.. welp here's all the specs..

High output bass is all about high excursion. If you want maximum SPL, you've gotta move some serious air - in this case, all 900+ square inches of it, driven by a 34" woofer. That's why Audiobahn's Linear Compression series subwoofers have Phat 2" foam surrounds and aluminum/titanium cones for huge amounts of excursion. To handle the rigors of tremendous linear movement, the baskets are made from ultra-stiff chrome plated cast aluminum, and even the back plate is part of a gigantic machined and chromed Bolt-Tight motor structure. Designed for ultra high output, the AWT34 features a huge 650 oz. double-stacked magnet, a vented and extended pole piece, and a 5" ASV former with dual 4-layer high-temp 1 ohm voice coils. All this beauty and brawn comes packaged in a heavy-duty wooden gift crate.

Subwoofer Specifications

Size: 34 inch
Rec. Sealed Box Dims: 9.00 - 30.00 cu.ft.
Rec. Ported Box Dims: not recommended
Free Air Usage: not recommended
Sensitivity: 88.9 dB
Frequency Response: 10-400 Hz
Recommended RMS Power: 5000W
Peak Power Handling: n/a
Impedance: dual 1 ohms

Shipping Weight: 70 lbs

I know!!! You can take your motor out and put it there, that way you don't have to take your seats out

I can't see anybody spending THAT kind of money into something THAT big and HEAVY!!!!! You'd be lucky if the poor car moves after that!!!

if my calculations are correct, the magnet alone weighs 40 lbs. thats about what an empty sub box for the hatch weighs. do are cars even have 30 cu ft in the cabin?

the sub is kind of gay tho, i mean its coo and all to have such a mammoth driver, but for less money you could get a huge quantity of smaller drivers and out-displace that monster.. SQ would be much better too.. plus, to amplify that you gotta have one massive amp, whereas with smaller subs you can get a bunch of less-powerful amps..

the only real reason to buy that is for looks, originality, or bragging rights.. not for performance tho.

The sub is only good for SPL competition. If that is your bag, then the sub is awesome. If you are looking for sound, yes this sub sucks. It's all about what you are trying to do. I've seen enough SPL competitions in my time and the people in those shows love this sub. World records will be broken. Just wait till someone puts four of these monsters in a van....200+db? it's a good possibility.

I'm sorry... I don't usually do this, but 200dB's??? Nice try fry guy

Just for some perspective: "120dB is the threshold of pain. 200dB is 50lbs of TNT detonated 10 feet away"

Team BS hit 177.7 at the dB Drag racing world finals....I think 200dB is only a few years away with the way technology grows.

I'm all for technological advancement and the need for more power, but I sincerely hope that 200dB is NOT a few years away. I've hurt my ears enough as it is.

Thankfully, that's highly unlikely

there is also a point where you cannot go any higher in normal conditions (atmosphere-wise). i believe that point may be under 200 db, but dont quote me on that.
