Wondering if i need a cap.
I'm putting in a 12" sub (Audiobahn 12" Flame AW1206Q) Sub, with a 600w Bazooka amp (will be running 370 from it). Do you guys think i need a cap. for that much power?

Do you need a cap?
What is the current draw (amps) that your amp is rated at? If your lights are flashing at all, or your volt gauge bounces when the bass hits, I would recomend a cap. Caps kind of work like an extra battery (a battery is basically a cap itself) to reduce power spikes hitting your alternator. Any further audio questions, feel free to contact me @ customcaraudiosystems@charter.net. I am a MECP certified installer with my own custom shop.

my current head unit runs a 45Wx4 and im getting no interference currently. the only amp ratings that i see are the 4-15 amp fuses. The specs of the amp are: Amplifier Type: Mono
RMS Power: 350W x 1 @ 4 Ohms
Bridged RMS Power: 500W x 1 @ 2 Ohms
THD at Rated RMS Power: 0.03%
Speaker Level Inputs: Yes
Preamp Outputs: Yes
Built-In Crossovers: LP
Bass Boost: 0-12 dB
Frequency Response: 20-200 Hz
Channel Separation: n/a
Signal to Noise Ratio: >90 dB
Fuse Rating: 4 x 15 amps

Are you still using your stock alternator or have you upgraded already. If you are still using you stock alternator, I recomend getting a 1 farad cap. Also what size wire are you using for amp power. If it is a larger gauge than the wire that goes from your alternator to your battery, upgrade the wire from the alternator to the battery with the same gauge you are running for your amp. This will also help with any current draw problems you have. I still suggest getting a cap though, they make a huge difference for the small cost.

what year car do you have you have if it's a 91 you should be fine seeing that they have a high amperage alternator i beleave it is 110amp the best thing you can to is hook it all up watch your votallage gague if it is allways droping below 10 volts then you can benafiet from a cap. but unless you have a charging promblem and volts keeping droping that low your turning it up to loud

yeah... i agree that you don't need one. 370W isn't much... i used to have a 200wx2 to 2 10s.. and i never saw any dimming or anything....
NOOOWW....with my new setup of the 1200w JBL and 400w front stage.... yeah...caps...
