Will it work on my Sony deck? the guy told me when I got it (It wasn't the most expensive one) that I wouldn't be able to run an amp, or run a sub or something like that... and I don't have the details for all the wires on the back of the deck with me... it's a Sony X-plod, about a year and a half old, the 52X4 model...

It's a Clarion 440 watt 4 channel amp... would this be a good step for my kicker impulse 4X6's and (possibly soon) Pioneer 6X9's? Should I amp just the 6X9's? or all of them?

I can get the amp for 60 bucks...

if it is one of the new sony head units, or even if it is a few years old it should have at least 2 sets of preouts on it. you run rca's from those preoout to the amp and then you can connect the speakers to the amp. if you dont have the preouts, the amp should come with a "high-level input" which is a set of wires that allow you to hook up the stock speaker wires to the amp withouot the rca's. good luck

you should get an improvement in sound quality too. the speakers with be able to play louder with out distortion, you just have to make sure you dont blow the 4x6's if you do decide to amp them by just not turning the gains to far up on the amp. good luck again.
