BC Interior People - COME INSIDE!!!
Hey, Chris aka Aperion is leaving us to go to a new job in Costa Rica in June. I would like to organize a "going away party" for Chris on Saturday June 14, 2008.
Chris is a great guy and I'm sorry to see him go - but I am happy for him too. So this will be your last chance to meet Chris. I just hope that he will continue to be a moderator on TGO.
So, I am planning a barbeque for Chris and any TGO member is welcome to come. I'll be supplying burgers so I need to know how many people would like to come. I'll send a PM to anyone who is interested and posts here. In the PM, I'll give you my home address, phone number and directions.
Best regards,
Glenn aka Grim Reaper

I had the oppertunity to meet Chris a few years back and he left a positive lasting impression on me. I hope Chris will stay around as a moderator on TGO for he is a wealth of knowledge and a good guy, and I too will be sorry to see him go. I know he has been talking about going to Costa Rica for some time now and I'm sure he has made the best decision for himself.
I'm not sure if I can make the party Glenn, we'll have to see how my schedule falls closer to the actual date. I recently started a new job so unfortunatly the only plans I can make are in the immediate future.

Congrats for the new job, and hope chris stays active on here as well!
As I have only met a couple people from TGO, I would love a chance to say hi/bye to everyone!
As it stands so far, I'd be willing and able to come

Great Whiskey Chick. I plan to hold it no matter what (well, except if the weather is going to be absolutely horrible). But it is usually great weather that time of year and it will be a nice drive from Kelowna to Kamloops.
Brisk (Chris), I hope you can make it. I know you have a very drive but it would be great to see you again.

Re: BC Interior People - COME INSIDE!!!
Just phone is sick... I'll let you phone from my home if you need to. I could even pretend to be you doctor.
If people are interested in an alternate date, I would be game to change that. Unfortunatley, the following weekend (Jun 21-22) my niece is getting married and we have a ton of relatives coming that weeked and this weekend is not good either.
I would be willing to try the Sunday (June 15) but that's Father's Day so that is probably bad for everyone else. As well, I prefer a Saturday so if people have a bit much to drink, they can "sleep it off" and travel the next day.
The only other alternative is the weekend of June 28-29 but I think Chris may be gone by then...as well, that may be a "long weekend" for a lot of people who "become sick" on June 30.

Re: BC Interior People - COME INSIDE!!!
It's not necessary that you have a running 3rd Gen. My GTA's needed the motor fixed for a few years now; but due to an ongoing physical injury, it may be awhile before I will be able to pull the motor etc and get her back on the road. In the meantime, it hasn't diminished my love of Thirdgens and my continued involvment in the TGO as a moderator and advisor.
So, if you would like to meet some of the local people, feel free to come out. The big question is whether Chris will be able to make it (as I believe they want him down in Costa Rica ASAP and he's got a ton of things that need to be done before he can go).
But if enough people are interested, I am prepared to have Chris' going away party even if Chris cannot make it...but I sure hope he is able to come and I think he will. As the few people that have met Chris, they will all agree that Chris is a real nice guy, extremely knowledgable about cars; especially about 3rd Gens and Chevy SBs.

Re: BC Interior People - COME INSIDE!!!
Chris sent me an e-mail indicating that this Saturday June 14th will be okay. The weather looks like it will be nice. So the barbeque is on regardless whether it is just Chris and me.
If you can please send me a PM with your e-mail address (if you are interested in coming), I'll send you a map of where I live and how to get there by the main highways (which all turn into the Trans Canada for a period whether you come up from Vernon on Hwy 97, or up the Coquihalla (Hwy 5).
I'll be supplying the burgers and Chris will be supplying the entertainment.
Hope you can make it.
Glenn
