Drag racing at Ashcroft BC 2005
This post is to allow those people interested in getting together at Ashcroft BC for some drag racing to come here and make a post and see if anyone else is interested.
The Ashcroft Drag Strip has a website at www.eaglemotorplex.com Please go to the website and specifically read up on "Street Legal Cars".
They have a class called "Street Legal Cars" with the rules that your car must comply with (basically, it has to be a street legal car). They do have a series of weekends set aside for Street Legal Cars, though they have not posted them yet for 2005.
If you don't know where Ashcroft is, it is on Highway 1 up the Fraser Canyon. It's about 20 Km south of Cache Creek and 190 km north of Hope.
Hopefully we can all meet a couple of times this year, get to know each other and have some fun at the drag strip.

I would prefer we do this "informal" (show up if you can make it; don't if you can't).
Formal "get togethers" involve planning etc, and inevitibly a number of people who promise to come don't make and for those who do all the planning its a bit of a disappointment.
I know a number of guys who would like to attend need to get their car running (myself included). There is actually a "test & tune" at Ashcroft this weekend, but I will be busy trying to get my car together again.
I am currently swapping e-mails with the administrators of Eagle Motorplex (Ashcroft) and they are still working on the schedule for "Street Cars", this weekend being the first "test & tune".
The advanatge of the "Street Car" series, there are minimal "technical" requirements. (Must be a licenced street car with mufflers and all working lights, no slicks, etc). Basically, as long as a cop wouldn't ticket you, you qualify.
Let's see how this goes, and then if there are more interest, we could attempt a more "formal" get together later.

I'd rather push it off at Savona into Kamloops Lake. With any luck the effluent from the pulp mill will strip it clean.

I'm still putting my car back together (though I am REALLY close to having it completed). I've been busy helping friends & family with income taxes and my back has been killing me while I work on my car.
