Re: Edmonton and surrounding area members in here
I wish my heap was in suitable condition but with the engine wounded as it is, storage is where it stays until I squire a shortblock (forged 383 in case anyone has one for sale).
Be on the lookout for Charlies (1986Z28OWNER) twin turboed 86. Last I read, he was into the 8's and gunning for 7's. (I think)

Pretty sure I've seen him run at Castrol but that would been early days when he was torturing a Gen 1 SBC.
I wish his shop wasn't so busy (and ultra high end) so that they'd have the time for a little pedestrian build for me. Presently looking for other avenues in that regard.
Post back on how the day went. I'm curious to know if the crowd is as lively as ever. The "Heavy Hitter" lane always had interesting rides. (20 minutes from my front door too).

Re: Edmonton and surrounding area members in here
This little corner of the forum is pretty quiet but I'll ask a question anyway.
Does anyone know of a reputable racing automatic transmission rebuilder in or around the Edmonton area?
I've got a 4L60 that bit the dust. It's full of some really good parts that should be salvageable but the guy I've got it with isn't a racing specialist and he's also not great at communicating.
I had what I thought would be my transmission for the foreseeable future but after 8000 kms of no racing, I found a transmission pan full of clutch material and metal.
I haven't been to the track since 2015 and consequently am seriously out of touch with the racing community.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I'm going to give this guy another month. He's offered to take the transmission apart, determine what's good to keep (servos, valves, planetaries would have survived I think) follow the spec sheet and put it all in a together with a different core.
I'm going to start a separate thread along these same lines as well.

James Hatfield is the man to talk to when it comes to 4l60e and 4l80e transmissions
