Re: camaros 4sale in MD/VA?

$500 for a reliably running car in general is hard enough to find, much less a sports car like a camaro. If you need a reliable ride, may I suggest something like an older Grand Marquis, taurus, or some other sedan of some sort as those tend to be a dime a dozen for ones that actually run well. Wait and save up for a decent camaro. Anything you find for that price is going to be far from reliable and probably two steps from a scrap yard. Just my two cents though...

Re: camaros 4sale in MD/VA?

You don't have to be a smart ***. You get what you pay for most of the time. These cars are almost always hacked and mangled which is why their resale sucks. Original low mileage cars are worth more than some hack jobs "mods" in not just my book but many other's as well. Proper mods are one thing, but I'd say probably half the so called mods out there aren't professional. If you're conning some guy into thinking his car isn't worth more than $500 bucks when it is, than good for you. But if its that cheap, it either has an owner that doesn't know what he/she has, its a rust bucket, or a general pile o' crap.

Re: camaros 4sale in MD/VA?

I'm going to have to agree with CreepingDeath94 on this one. I'm going to guess that the guy that you bought your RS from was either in a bind and needed cash quickly or just wanted to dispose of it and didn't care what he got for it. If you have the ability to go around and convince people that there car isn't worth anything then maybe you should be selling vacuums door to door. I have no doubt that you will find another $500 3rd gen as I have seen plenty here in Maryland, but I wouldn't want to drive any of them.

Re: camaros 4sale in MD/VA?

Alright, I apologize then...it just seemed as if you were being smart. I was only trying to help as it seemed like you needed a car. Didn't know it was a project for the g/f. Anyway, I don't assume that a younger person is any better worse at maintaining their car than an older one, especially if they take the time to join an internet forum to ask questions/give answers that pertain to maintaining that vehicle. It just seemed like you were trying to find something for nothing. I think I need to move closer to Maryland if these cars are really going that cheap there :-p Anything under $1500 around the southeast is just what i was warning about in my previous post...junk. Regardless, there is a car in Virginia area listed on the FS forum that looked to be in your price range, but they were Firebirds/Trans-Ams. Ok, I'm done invading your thread. I should have sent you a pm in the first place with my "suggestion" anyway as it wasn't for a Camaro for sale and was off topic. It was one of those days/weeks and was a lapse of judgment on my part. Good luck finding what you need.
