SOLD-Five-Speed 85 IROC-Z Coupe in Silver Metallic
Background:
I purchased the IROC (as the third owner) on 11/18/92 with 53,340 miles. In the intervening 30 years, I’ve replaced or repaired a ton of parts, so what you see below is, in many ways, only the tip of the iceberg.
Exterior:
*Rare silver metallic paint. Resprayed (06/30/99). The car isn’t a trailer queen so while the paint is generally very good, it does show some chipping around the nose. By the way, I’ve never seen another silver met. car except on TGO
*Decals replaced (GM)
*All window/door weatherstripping replaced (GM)
*Louvers replaced (GM)
*Grill replaced (GM)
*Door handles/locks replaced (GM)
*Turn signal lenses replaced (GM)
*Emblems replaced (GM)
*Fog lights replaced (GM)
*Proparts clear side markers with high intensity amber bulbs
* Power antenna replaced (GM)
Interior:
*Complete overhead console with working flashlight
***** auto dimming mirror with compass and outside temp
*Grant steering wheel with black billet install kit and silver horn button
*1.5 din Alpine head unit with detachable faceplate and remote control
*Kenwood 4X6 and 3-way 6X9 speakers
*Twin Lear Siegler Conteur front seats. The driver’s side adds a 6-way electric track
*Window and hatch switches were replaced (GM)
*MBA billet pedal covers
Drive Train:
*GM 350HO Deluxe (350ci/330hp) with 4160 Holley Street Warrior. The HO was installed on 07/09/2005 with the mileage at 146,363. Today’s mileage is 169,972. Miles driven 23,609
*GM serpentine ACC drive kit
*T5 with Centerforce II plate, Centerforce I/II disc, Jeg’s standard flywheel, etc. (08/17/21). Odometer at 168309. Miles driven to date 1,663
*B&M short-throw “Ripper” with B&M T shifter
*JG1 alum drive shaft
*Moser 26-spline axles (3.23 ratio with limited slip)
*Summit 10-bolt differential support cover with bearing cap support
*Falken 245/50R 16s (05/07/2018) with odometer at 166,012. Miles driven to date 3,960
Exhaust:
*Hooker Super Comp headers, Catco high-flow cat, and Hooker cat back
Brakes:
*Spohn 1LE complete front brake package
*1LE rears from various sources
Suspension:
*Edelbrock strut tower brace
*Founders camber/caster plates
*Koni Yellows
*Global West Wonder Bar
*Powder-coated 36mm hollow and 24mm solid sway bars
*Spohn end links
*Edelbrock torque arm
*UMI transmission cross member
*Global West weld-in subframe connectors
*Spohn adjustable lower control arms
*Spohn adjustable panhard bar
*Moog 5662 front/5665 rear springs
Steering components:
*The center link, idler arm, and tie rods were all replaced at some point
*Hotchkis tie rod sleeves
Uncommon original options:
*Rear washer/wiper
*Quartz clock in console
Issues:
*The headliner is starting to droop
*The R12 needs a charge
*The battery is due for replacement
*The differential is weeping at the cover
So why am I selling?
During the pandemic I stopped attending car shows and Old Silver started sitting—never a good thing. Not long ago, a falling headliner or an R12 charge would have led to immediate action. Now action is on the back burner—never a good thing. Moreover, as a longtime member/moderator, I’m simply not contributing much to TGO any more. The fast approach of my 76th year is also a contributing factor. While I still enjoy driving the IROC, I think time has come to pass it to someone who will enjoy it as much as I once did.
If questions or concerns arise or if you require more pictures/info, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I don’t want the buyer to experience any ugly surprises. PM me for my cell number if you wish to speak to me. I have a three-inch file of records/receipts for the car dating back many years, so I should be able to answer any and all questions. The buyer is welcome to that file for future reference. By the way, if a part came with a manual or instruction sheet, it will likely be in that file.
Now to business:
$16,000 or a reasonable offer will take Old Silver and every single Camaro-related part or product in my possession. I’d be happy to detail all of the latter, to include a mint Camaro dash pad, race ramps and much, much more.
All the following photos (or any that may be requested) are from November 21 and 22.
Thanks for looking,
JamesC

Replies sent. If there are any other questions, let me know. I may need a little time to peruse my file for specific dates and so on, but that's not a problem.

I couldn’t pass this one up. I felt obligated to bring her to the SW where she can be driven year round.

Re: SOLD-Five-Speed 85 IROC-Z Coupe in Silver Metallic
I was working on LS1/T56 swap into a 92 RS. I had a 1954 Chevy 3100 for sale. I was talking with the buyer and told them about my 92 project. They made me a good offer for the 1954, Ls1 and T56. Sold that and then this one popped up. Seemed like it was meant to be.
