1985 Yellow hardtop Iroc rarely optioned
Putting up my 1985 Iroc for sale. I am only selling it to potentially find a t-top 5 speed car. It runs and drives GREAT. My kids love it. I would trust this car to drive anywhere.
Basic facts
PRICE: $11,000
100k miles
Only year for yellow gold in single stage
Original paint and an unrestored car
3 owners. I've owned it since June 2014
No accidents
Wheels are nearly perfect and 100% refinished with new valve stems, center caps, refinished, and new tires with 100 miles on them
Gale banks exhaust installed in 1989. Cat was hollowed as it was rattling apart and new I-pipe installed
EVERYTHING works
New valve seals in 2016. Does not smoke on start up at all, great oil pressure
Transmission shifts PERFECT
NEW floormats
new window switches and unlock/lock buttons
water pump and electric fan replaced in 2017
Options (CHECK SOME OF THESE OUT!!!)
hard top
rear wiper
power antenna
3.42 rear end with posi
overhead console
Lear Siegler interior in tan (only year for this color) Drivers seat side bolster has been redone. Otherwise all in great shape. Top of rear seat has some fading
Factory radio with aux added
305 TPI
140 GM speedo
rear cargo shade
Issues with the car (I am very particular)
front nose has stress cracks and lip is in fair shape paint wise
could use carpet (faded and a worn spot on passenger footwell)
rear drivers interior panel has some fading, but will include one I bought in great shape to replace it, but haven't
small squeak when engine is cold only. (THINK its the smog pump)
transmission leaks when stored for long times, sometimes, I have not looked into this
It would be hard to find another car optioned like this one. In 1985 Motor Trend they did a test on the then new 1985 Iroc and the car was optioned exactly like this one, but I have no idea if it was this one of course. As stated, it runs great, everything is in great working shape, uniquely optioned and unrestored.
Let me know if you have any questions!

Really cool car.. 5-speed TPI too!
Love the interior... Looks like a car with much lower miles
GLWS!

I misread your ad in the beginning... you are selling to find a 5-speed car.. I saw 5-speed and got excited..

I don't think anyone willing to buy a car at 99k would pass on it at 100k. I definitely think some people would pass on a car over 50k, but splitting hairs over 99 and 100? nah, I think you're fine. But who knows, I could be wrong.

Re: 1985 Yellow hardtop Iroc rarely optioned
It’s probably in better mechanical shape than some of those ones with 300 miles that haven’t been turned over in 10 years...
Its hard to value the car because of it had 20k miles it would be on EBay for $25k in the same condition
I know there are people dying for yellow IROCs... If it wasn’t quite as well kept maybe it would be $6k-$7k at 100k miles
The seller seems to have been very honest in every flaw cosmetic and mechanical and I’d believe the car doesn’t really “need” anything..
I think it would sell quicker under $10k but you can find a buyer where it’s at... At that mileage it would be better in person to see how good the condition is and how strong it runs..
Car looks great!

Re: 1985 Yellow hardtop Iroc rarely optioned
Thanks guys. Its outside now getting some PDR done. It will be at F-Body Beach week this weekend and has run 9.8-9 second 1/8 mile times as it sits, which surprised me a lot. I attest it to the 3.42 rear and "big" cam 5.0.
And yes, much like ABUBACA, I plan on giving 100% disclosure to avoid any potential issues. FWIW, cleaned the trans pan and have seen no leaks over the last couple months, so not sure if it was another car or what.
I can get any specific pics or videos as well, just ask.
