1989 Camaro RS - 350, 5 speed
I can’t believe that I’m selling it, but I just cannot keep it anymore. With not having a garage soon and being at school, I either have to store it for over a year or sell it. This car has been my baby since sophomore year of high school, and I would hate to see it go. Car needs painted. I started sanding to freshen up the paint, but running out of time to get it done before I have to go back to school. Never been in an accident as far as I know. When I bought a car, the guy had carfax with no damages. Body of the car is currently in pieces, but I have it all. Took it all apart to sand and paint. So far I have roof stripped and working on sanding the whole body. I just don’t have the time, money or tools to finish the job. Need to pay for school and my truck. Here is the list of parts that I can think of right now. I will add more if I remember something, and I also have all the original suspension parts as well, along with other random parts.
Engine:
350 block and bottom end – rebuilt with new rings, and all bearings. About 11k on motor.
CompCams XE268 cam and lifters
New push rods
New Double chain and gears
Double Hump Heads with 2.02” valves
Performer RPM intake manifold
Edelbrock Carb (600 CFM if I remember right)
All new plugs and wires along with wire ties
New Chrome Alternator (100 Amps)
New Fuel Pump
New Belts
New Clutch and flywheel
Flowtech headers
Custom y-pipe
Suspension & Axle:
ALL new bushings and ball joints
Newer Steering links (4 years old)
Eibach Lowering Springs – Pro
Spohn Rear lower control Arms – New
Spohn Adjustable Panhard Bar – New
KYB all around
Iroc Sway bars all around
Wonder Bar (steering Brace)
Auburn Limited Slip with 3.42 gears
Powder Coated Axle
Other:
Battery Relocation – Mallory Aluminum box in the trunk. Used Welding cable as power wire.
Phenolic Spacer – In the box never installed
New Fuel lines – Aluminum
Coolant Overflow Relocation/Hidden
4 inch cowl hood – nice and thick fiberglass. Bought it used but it’s in great condition. Never had it on my car
Painted Engine Bay – John Deere Blitz Looks Very clean and nice.
Everything electrical works – except power locks, not sure why.
Heat Blows hot.
Interior is in decent Condition. Rear Seats are out but I still have them
I have a lot of time and money invested into this, but need to sell. I am sure I forgot something, so just ask or come check it out. Like I said, the car is in pieces right now, so probably needs towed. But you can drive it around the block if needs to be. Also, I can spray some primer on sanded areas and put it together, and then it can be driven home. This car will move and do it fast . Just needs paint and its complete! I will post Pictures as soon as I get my hands on the camera. Asking 3,700 but make me a reasonable offer. No trades please, I can’t handle another car, that’s the reason I’m selling this.

What's the rust under the car look like? And wow that thing is loud! It might give my friends stock car a run in terms of noise.

Re: 1989 Camaro RS - 350, 5 speed
The underbody on this car is pretty good for its age. When I got the car I found some rust on driver side, so spend a long time grinding it out, and once I got it free of rust, I laid fiberglass to it can take the “wavy” shape of floor. Then I POR 15 the whole thing to keep rust from coning back again. It turned out pretty good and 5 years (or 6) later its still looks like the day it was done. There is really no rust under the car. When I pulled ground effects off, there was some around the bolt holes, but that’s gone too now. It was just light surface rust.
The car is not very loud, but definitely has a tone to it.

2000 come get it, or it's going to scrap end of May. Comes with gallon of 2 k primer and quart of epoxy along with hardener and wax and grease remover. I need it out of my way asap.

I wish you didn't live so far from me. If your willing to part it out let me know. I could give most of the suspension parts and battery relocation a good home. Let me know what you think.

Is this still apart and requires a tow or can it be driven home?

Re: 1989 Camaro RS - 350, 5 speed
would you be interested in taking a bunch of the parts and trying to sell that yourself? bumpers, rock panels, lights, seats, etc...
I want the motor/tranny and everything associated with that... belts, rad setups, shifter, pedals etc, but my car is mint body/interior. I'll give you 1250 for the car without the other ****... you can get well over a grand for the body alone, and then take into account the seats or doors or whatever else you'd be willing to take off.

Re: 1989 Camaro RS - 350, 5 speed
Hey hows it going? I hope I haven't caught this post too late. I'm in Iraq right now but am originally from Fort Wayne. I've been looking for a better platform to build my camaro from. I've got a '91 v6 model right now that I got cheap, but I've heard its a lot of work to swap from that. If this is still for sale, please contact me back at your convenience. Thank you.

I would buy this car in a heart beat if it was put together enough to drive back to Fort Campbell Kentucky. Good luck getting rid of her.

Re: 1989 Camaro RS - 350, 5 speed
I am planning on shooting all panels 2k primer this monday. Then I am putting the car back together and if none ends up buying by then, it is going in storage. Keep checking photobucket for updates. Obviously I'm going to ask little more then $2000 after I put it all together to the point where it can be used as a driver car.
