Longer studs for LS1 brake swap

I'm doing the LS1 front brake upgrade using turned down original metric hubs for the hubs for the LS1 rotor hats; therefore I figure I'm most likely going to need slightly longer wheel studs to allow for the thickness of the LS1 rotor hats, which appear to be about 8mm thick where the studs go thru the mounting surface. The stud for the stock metric rotor/hub is listed as Dorman 610-254: this has a length of 41.5mm and a knurl diameter of 12.73. The closest longer 12X1.5mm stud I've found is Dorman 610-323: this has a length of 54mm and a knurl diameter of 12.80mm. Assuming the .07mm greater knurl diameter isn't going to matter the 610-323 studs would stick out about 1/4" (or less) further when installed with the LS1 set-up than the stock set-up which put the studs about even with the ends of the threads on the lug nuts. It doesn't seem to me that the slightly extra length should matter; if it does I reckon they could be trimmed.

Am I on the right track, or is there a better stud for this brake upgrade? One thing I'm NOT interested in is buying overpriced ARP (or some other boutique brand) studs. I've never had a stud break in my life so I'm sure Dorman (or equivalent) stock replacement studs should be plenty strong.

Yes thats the one to use...it will crack your hub if you do not reduce the press fit, on a full on rotor hub assembly yes you can press it all day long, but when you turn that hub down and only have .250-.250 of cast to the outside edge it will crack it, straight flute reamer and aim for about .005-.007 max with lube for press. Dorman studs will vary too by a few thousandths sometimes so it can be a crap shoot. Now summit had a stud you can use straight out of the box and it always seemed to fit well..cal custom M12 x 2.5 I think they were- disregard the picture, that is not how they look but they do work without any reaming. I did use them for a while but they got out of hand on the price...now looks like they are realizing they are not ARP'S haha

Thanks for the link for those studs. Cal Custom brings back memories. I wonder who owns that brand name by now.
